Nordy NP4 / BS4 ? stock or custom? or NPJ4?

Interested in the NP4 and a Big Single 4 as a PJ setup on my Spector NS2A NT. Would it be ok to order these pups separately and put them together? Or would those that have done this recommend the custom ordered custom wound NP4/BS4? Or is this too much trouble and should I just pick up the NPJ4 set and be done with it?

I would be careful putting together the NP4 and a single coil. You'll never have the humcanceling effect, but if you don't mind hum...
If you want silence, you could go with a bigsplit.

What string spacing the bass has?

Yeah, I'll have to check the string spacing. I know the Nordy pups work well with 19mm spacing (down to 18mm?). So a NP4 and a Bigsplit, huh? or the NPJ4 ...

Thx for your reply!

so would there be much difference tonally between a NP4/BigSplit setup and a NPJ4 setup? According to what I've read, the NPJ4 gives you snap & grind, where the BigSplit is more of a fat bottom. I think with the NP4 in there already, I might want to go with the straight J pup (NPJ4) for a little more variety. I don't think I want to stray too far from the tone Spectors are known for ...

How about the '51 style NP4 and the bridge NJ4? Is the '51 style NP4 a true single coil? Would these two work together like typical single coil J pups?
