It's upside down

It says "Moon" and probably came out of a Japanese made Moon bass - not bad basses by any means though! How's it sound?

PS - KSD's are great basses...I got the chance to play one the other day at a friend's band's practice.

Some links to check out:

your moon bass !!!

It shouldn't affect anything if it's upside down or not. It's definitely not the original pickup though which makes ya wonder what happened to the other one? If you like the sound though, it's not gonna matter anyway but I would ask the previous owner if he knows what happened to it...if he really is the original owner or if he's just pulling your chain about not modifying it...or maybe someone pulled his chain and he's not really the original owner? Too many possibilities.

the pick ups are not US made the bass and electronics are from korea. But so are tribute G&L, skyline lakland, etc. It is a good bass though. the official importer is Brooklyn gear. Check there web site or Ken Smiths for more info.
