Old Fretless Tune bass Replacement pick up ideas
I bought this bass used years ago. The the seller & myself thought it was some kind of ibanez. Only later did I do some research and found out it was a Tune bass maniac. It has active P & J style pick-ups. The ones currently installed in the bass are of the ibanez brand, i assume from an sdgr. The original owner must have replaced the stock Tune pick-ups with them. The headstock is spear-like and says it was made in japan. Its all black, 1 volume knob, and 3 eq. There was some writing/inscription above the 20th-24th frets on the body that someone rubbed off, this was prob the "Bass Maniac" logo.
Anyhow, im half looking for more info on this bass (whats its value?), and half looking for suggestions on what might be a decent pick-up upgrade for it. The current Ibanez ones, are rather hollow, lacking a deep lowend. I can achieve a passable mid jacolike growl tone, & has made it suitable for some jazz gigs. However, I would like to use this bass a lot more for any situation. Something that can cut through a full band if i decide to use it for a loud rock gig, but still get a growly woody sound for jazz. The neck feels amazing for my tiny hands, its light, and it's my only fretless. It's my most playable bass, probably my favorite.
I have pictures but not sure how to post them on here without a url. Anyway i can post pictures straight from my computer into this thread?
