Output jack issue

Hello TB,

I have a Schecter omen 4 Diamond series bass.

I plugged in today and after about 30 seconds the bass made a small popping sound and stopped sending a signal to the amp.

I switched cords thinking it was a short and the problem repeated. I switched amps, same thing.

I opened the back to take a look at the jack and the wiring seemed to be intact.
I am an electronics novice and I am not too confortable with going any further.

Any ideas?

Thanks a bunch. I appreciate any help.

Is it a passive bass, or is there a battery? If there's a battery check that.

It's active, sorry forgot to include that info. We replaced the battery with negative results.

My bet is that the barrel jack has failed.

I would agree JLS, the bass is less than a year old. So I guess replacement may be the only option eh?

Thank you for taking the time to reply

Do you have access to and know how to use an ohm meter/ digital multimeter?

I would hate to change the jack and have the problem be something else.

Thanks bro. I contacted Schecter and I am bringing the bass into their shop for repair.

Gotta love a company that stands behind their product.
