Passive------> Active switching
So if you were to wire up an active preamop onto a passive bass, say adding a pair of EMGs to a Fender bass, where would the battery pack be stored as there is no routing that allows it to be stored safely? And since it would be active, it would require (or not) the extra knobs on the bass...and where would THOSE go on a passive bass
EMGs are active pickups, not a preamp. They have no controls.
The only way to make it work is to either route under the pickguard, or add a battery box.
Damn, I'm such a ******.
well, it is a little confusing;
active pickups vs onboard preamps vs onboard EQ: with active pickups, the preamp is inside the pickup housing itself, while onboard preamps can have EQ, or not.
I just leave the battery in with the pots so its not taped to my bass or anything
