The venerable David Wilson has made a request for some Rio Grande Pitbull clips. How can I refuse?
The clips were recorded straight into a Presonus Firepod with no compression, eq, or any of that nonsense. The bass was a heavily modified Steinberger XM-2 (solid maple body, Moses graphite neck). I have no preamp in this bass - in fact I don't even have so much as a volume knob. What you are hearing is the pickups without any coloring whatsoever.

I mean, what you did sounds great anyway so I guess it's just for curiosities sake |

i have two, a neck and bridge.
might just be the tonal characteristics of the bass though.
it's not graphite and maple.

This seems to be the only place on the whole internet that mentions clips of Pitbulls, and the links are dead. Anyone still have these? |

| | | Mike Watt and the Missingmen touring behind new album
Mike Watt's main bass that he uses now has a Pitbull in it. On the second page of this thread there is a clip. Like all clips of live playing its not super clear but maybe it will help. Watt has tons of clips on Youtube you could check out. Good luck. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
