Pesky S1 Switch

Anybody know how to get the knob off of the S1 switch on a P-bass. I need to change pickguards and that thing will NOT come off without EXTREME force.

Never mind. Got it off. Once you loosen the knob, the switch part will basically pull off with a little force. no damage done.
