I know what they are but how are they better than regular pick ups?
And what does DX stand for?

I don't know what a 'regular' pickup is. There are many brands, models and variations on those, unless you just mean a generic P or J shaped pickup. Can't say how good these are. Did you like them when you played the bass?

I couldn't tell a true difference between DX pick ups. But I've never played the other kind. And when I mean regular I do man Generic, sorry.
