Question Phase switch or series/parallel or ?

Sign in to disble this ad
I've got 2 J style pickups wired to a blend pot (Demeter pre). I get some single coil hum even at the center position of the blend. It's ok to perform with but I wouldn't want to record w/ it. Would a phase or series parallel switch give me a silent option? Or . . . ? I'd rather not replace the pickups.

I would presume that if anything it would be S/P, as it would make both pickups work as one...

But could it be wiring/shielding/grounding/volume levels?

thanks, I'll look for an s/p diagram.

I don't think it's shielding, I shielded it but the hum is still there. It was there before I installed the preamp, so I'm not sure why I expected it to go away lol
