Physics of a pickup

Hey TB members, since you guys (and gals) are the best around I was hoping you would be able to help me once again. I was hoping that someone could either point me in a direction of some sources as far as the subject of physics of a pickup (anything is useful, I need to write a paper) or maybe someone qualified could PM me and I could interview you and use you as a source in my paper.

I know you will come through for me

What's the paper? Might help to narrow down what you need.
