Cool Pick-up Advice

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi,

I bought the Squier Active V that everyone was raving about for the price.I figured why not?..it's pretty cheap. Well, I missed out on GC's 30 day return policy by one week.

Honestly, The sound of this bass is just OK at best. I thought I liked it, but with fresh ears I never loved it...(not even close). I do like the feel of the neck and the look of the bass, SO guess I will start my MOD adventures.

I am pretty new with mods, so I will be gleaning from this forum.I'm going to go with the Bad Ass V for a bridge. Now pick-ups. How are the "basslines" the quater pounder? How are the Nordstrand pick-ups?

I play in a lot of different musical situations, so I need some pick-ups that are pretty diverse.

Thanks for your help.

Best,

kENNy

Quarter Pounders are quite modern sounding , bright and fairly punchy but somewhat mid scooped so possibly not the most diverse or versatile pickups , however a lot of people love them

You could also give Brian at BestBassGear.com a call or drop him an email. He's a trememdous help and may even be able to tell you what's popular among others who have upgraded the bass you have.
