Pick-Up/Electonics Problem?

I have an 07 Fender American Series P-bass with the S-1 switch which is only a few months old purchased brand new. Earlier today I was cleaning it and I removed the pickguard to clean under that area and then put it back on. Now I get no sound out of the bass except when I push the S-1 switch in, which is useless on a P-bass, and it's only the D and G strings that I get sound from. I have looked at all the wires and solder points, and I have looked at that pick-up(E & A) and see nothing out of the ordinary or detached. Has anyone had the same problem or does anyone now of a fix? I am really disappointed as I am walking out the door to go jam now and have to use my other bass. Hopefully you guys and girls will have a solution. Thanks.
