Question Pick up shields?

Hey everyone, I was just a question about pick up shields, i love the look of them but is there any pratical advantage to having on on your bass?

other than aesthetics no some will claim they have magical powers that makes your bass sound better but just like most magic tricks its an illusion

sheilding tape will do the same thing.
the only real advantage to pickup sheilds is that they are precut,
cross your fingers and hope they fit!

sheilding is a good idea though.
