Pick up upgrade

Need opinions, currently have a Jon Hill Elite walnut body, Bart p and j pickup combo with Bart 2 band preamp. Not happy with overall sound, to me just too muddy sounding.
I was looking for a good replacement to get more bite, thinking of Dimarzio Will Power P pickup matched with Ultra Jazz in bridge position.
Questions is will these work with the Bart preamp? Is this over kill, looking for additional pickup options.

Check out bassboysam's thread above on the new Fralin P's he scored. Someone else in the thread posted spectacular results with a Fralin P/J set with the J pickup 10% overwound. Sounds tasty!
