pick ups and control plate

Hi everyone, I am new to the forum. I have a question, I recently replaced my pick ups from stock mim jazz bass to vintage 62 pups. should I replace the electronics on it, pots,wireing, ect. or does that mean nothing to tone. thank you

Means nothing to tone, unless you start switching values/tapers.

it does "mean something" to the tone, but it just happens that the stock mexi pots and jack are decent, and the right values for the vintage original jazz sound, so there's no need to "upgrade", unless you want to start playing around with different sounds like brighter 500k pots, or a different sweep with linear taper pots.
