Question PICK UPS AND EQ FOR WARMOTH BASS

Sign in to disble this ad
i'm considering making a warmoth bass this summer. i want to make a jazz bass with a swamp ash body, a wenge neck and an unlined fretless ebony fingerboard. i wan't to put a mm pup in the bridge position along with a j pup in neck position, i would also like a 3 band active eq maybe with a passive switch. i have a pj set of emgs on my fretless bass now, and i like the sound or bartolinis, but i was considering other options.
i like a punchy sound in a band setting, but also capabilities of a more soft, full solo sound.
i would apreciate any help and suggestions of what types of pickups and electronic i should use.
thanks

Check the Audere preamp. The Z mode switch gives a lot of tonal variety, it's inexpensive for a drop-in J bass preamp. (I'm assuming you're not doing a rear route.)

+1

I have the audere in my jass with rio grande muy grandes(you can get these from warmoth too) and this thing kicks. Dead quiet too. I can get a variety of tones, everthing from barks and growls to smooth and silky. Great for slap and jaco on steriods. The installation was near plainless too.
