Pick ups and other accesories advice/ideas

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi, i'm brand new to the forum. And i'm looking for some advice. My current bass is a Vintage Metal AXXE wraith tis a sexy beast and i love it especially for the price. This is my first and only bass and i have no intetion of parting with it so i thought pimping it up would be a good way to go. Pickups wise i'm debating emg's or dimarzio's. my bass uses active pickups and already has preamp and also uses pj style pickups. Any other ideas or suggestions are welcome. Also when i gig i'm constantly back and forth from standard and drop-D, so i found hipshot D tuners which would be beyond helpful but the price is a bit off putting so i'm wondering if there are cheaper alternatives out there?

Cheers Guys

Several sellers on Amazon.com have the Hipshot for $65. The seller Woodwind and Brasswind ships them internationally, if you aren't in the US. They sell pickups too, so it may be worth a look. I just ordered a Hipshot and a Dimarzio PJ set from them the other day, for a total of $180 shipped to Canada.

and i'll give it a look but importing from the US to the UK is pain in the ass. but yeah i'll check it out and see if amazon uk has anything on offer too. cheers
