I just started playing bass with my index finger, and middle finger. Is it normal to develope a little calasist while playing with them for the first time? i raised the action because the first fret was buzzing... I would appreciate your guys feedback!1

Would someone move this to the technique forum?

And yes, you will get harder skin in your picking hand and also on your fretting hand depending on your technique. It also helps to avoid playing with dry (skin wise) hands as the wear on your skin is greater then (more friction = more wear). Also don't use a lot of hand lotions, makes the problem worse.
