Pickup change (squier precision cassic vibe 60)

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm thinking about changing the pickups of my stock squier classic vibe 60's (Custom Precision Bass split-coil pickup with AlNiCo V magnets) to an original 62 p bass pickup. Is it worth it?

i'm looking for that FAT sound wich many punk rock bands have (blink 182, fallout boy, these crap)

If you want that fat punk sound, you're best bet would be the pickup that, IIRC, alot of those bands use. Semour Duncan 1/4 pounder. I have one in a p-bass and it is super-fat.

If you do the switch I may be interested in the squire pickup for a junker project of mine...

The 1/4 is mid scooped. Keep that in mind.

I am waiting for a 62 for my MIM Fender. It might be here in the mail tonight. If it is rest assured- it WILL be installed tonight.

I will try to get sound clips!
