Pickup covers for a Fender Precision Elite II

Sign in to disble this ad
Does anyone know of a manufacturer who will make custom pickup covers? I've got a Precision Elite II with white, rounded pickup covers.

I'd like to replace the stock white covers with black (just to mix things up a bit.)

I've searched the web and TB alike, but I can't seem to find anyone who makes replacement covers for these basses.

Any ideas?

For the love of God, leave them white!
99% of P basses have black pickups. White is so unique looking.

And are you sure that the covers are replaceable?
I really have no idea, but since they do not have visible pole pieces, it's possible they may be blade style pickups that were epoxy potted.

I wouldn't be getting rid of the white covers, just switching them until i get tired of black.

You have a good point. I haven't tried to remove the stock covers, so i don't even know if they can be replaced. Can any other elite II owners chime in about this?

I recently had to take out the bridge pickup in my Elite II because it has lost a lot of its volume and puts out very little low end. Was going to inspect the coils to see if something was awry.

I discovered that the pickup covers are sealed all around. Upon close inspection it did seem like there was a seam between the back and the sides that might be opened with a knife but I didn't pursue the matter further.

Now I just have to find a new bridge pickup...
