Pickup direction?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys, I'm about install a Nordstrand NJ5FS set in my FMT V and unlike other pickups with logos on them, Nordstrands (at least until recently) don't indicate which the pickups should be oriented in the cavity. Does it matter? I also noticed that there seems to be some sort of film wrapped around 2 coils of the bridge pup and 3 coils of the neck pup. Does it matter which way they face?

Basically, this way...

...or this way?

Thanks!

It doesn't matter which way you orient them, as long as there is no staggering of the pole pieces.
