Pickup magnet rod noise

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi, im picking up noise when i touch some of the poles in my pickup... i know this a common grouding issue but this one really got me around thinking...

I have copper foil on the bottom of the pickup with a bare wire connected from the foil passing from the lead shield and finally to the respective volume pot... everything is showing continuity with my tester so the grounding is ok...

am i missing something here ? has long i know this should be already fixed with those procedures.

It may be what you're plugged into, not the bass itself. It all becomes part of a circuit when you plug in and hit the "on" switch on your amp.

I'd just avoid touching the pickup poles. If that's the only time the noise happens, there shouldn't be a problem.

This happens to me on my P-bass with Antiquity 2's installed - I get a buzz and hum not only when touching the polepieces, but also when touching the pickup cover. This is the only axe of four on which I have this issue.

It doesn't bother me, 'cause it goes away when I touch any other metal part.
