Question Pickup naming convention: Front=Bridge or Front=Neck?

I think front would designate the neck pickup, wouldn't you?

front = the side nearest the strings, as far as the ad for that pu cover is concerned.

the ad's saying "jazz pickup cover, closed front, black." as in, "there are no holes for the pole pieces to poke through."

at least, that's how i read it.

but: bridge = "treble pickup," neck = "bass pickup."

Yeah I couldn't tell if it was saying "closed front" or "closed, front".

Since both pickups are the same dimensions you are correct.

Thanks. I take it's front=neck rear=bridge (English is not my native tongue).
