Pickup Noise (HELP)

Sign in to disble this ad
Here is my question, I have a Peeavey Millennium BXP 5 string with single coil pickups. I am getting excessive humming noise not just the normal noise from single coil pickups when they are not blended together. Even when I blend them together it doesn't help. If I disconnect one of my pickups will I still be able to get a signal to my amp. Can't afford the repair at the moment but still need to play. Or is there something I can do to get by for now.

Does it have a battery preamp? Check the battery wiring for a cold solder joint to the ground on the jack...

If it's got a battery, try swapping the battery...
