Pickup options for MIA Fender pbass deluxe

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a MIA p-bass deluxe (the one with the humbucker in the bridge position). I love the way it looks and feels, but am displeased with its tone. It's a bit too mid-rangy for my liking. I am considering an Aguilar OBP-3 preamp with a midrange switch. I am happy with the stock bridge humbucker, but what p-style pickup should i go with? I want to move away from the Fender sound all together. I need a more low-end oomph! and punch! I know its foolish to want a p-bass that sounds nothing like a p-bass, but as i said i love the way it looks and feels. Suggestions please!

I have a Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder in my P and it's punchy like Manny Pacquiao.
