Pickup and pre amp replacement advice needed

Sign in to disble this ad
I have an older American fender jazz 5 string deluxe V With all five tuners on the left side of the headstock, I was thinking about putting the Audere preamp 6 z mode in it with volume, pan, high, low, mid, and z mode ( i think i said that right?), and i was then thinking about putting some bartolini jazz 5 pickups in it,I am looking for a more modern tone but with thick lows in the bridge pickup, and a neck pick up with a little more high end, I am looking to get a more deep sounding stingray type vibe from the bridge pickup, I like a good growl.

Also I was thing about putting hipshot ultra lights tuners on do to horrible neck dive, and either a bad ass V bridge with string through, or a hipshot A 5 string bridge with string through, which bridge takes the least amount of modification to put in?

Is this a good combination, or should i be looking into something else?

what barts will give me a modern 3d type tone yet with a good low end?

all these mods sound worthwhile, except that they already have lightweight keys, and the stock bridge is actually really nice.

the stock tuning keys are nice, but if i let go of my bass it dives to the left, the neck and head of the bass is heavy, so I figure if i put light weight tuning keys on the head, and a heavy metal bridge on the body, then it will balance it out.
