Alright, its time for change. I while ago i made the switch in my geddy lee jazz to an active setup.

I went with barts jb9's + a j-retro stnd.

Im looking now for a new sound. im not sure what exactly so i figured id survey a crowd for some of their favorite active jazz PU + Pre combinations.

Im open to pretty much any sugestions, i may even just hook up the old pickups and harness outa curiosity. My only limitation is that i have a budget of about $250. but to keep stuff interesting think with used price.

so wats hot guys? help me pimp my jazz.

My frankenbass started out with a Geddy Lee Body, I use a J-Retro with Dimarzio J in the neck and routed the bridge for a Nordstrand MM4.3. Vast array of sounds coming from this combo. The Dimarzio J's are very popular and got great reviews on the jazz pup review on this forum. It was the Talkbass review that got me to try the dimarzio's.

Here is something that might help

"J" pickups discussion and comparisons.
