Pondering a full re-do of the electronics on my Ibby SR-406. Wondering about suggestions from the group.
Tone-wise, I really like Stingrays. And a nice angry jazz bass sound.
Thinking possibly about EMG or Nordstrand.
Suggestions?
Thanks.

Good to see ya, Matt.

right now, AFAIK, it's wearing standard Ibanez Soapbars.

Ralf | Probably not a bad suggestion. For preamps, I really like the Nordstrand 3-band preamp in my Hanewinckel so far.

It's also available as a 2-band pre. Check Best Bass Gear for some options. IMO, when the pre is set flat, it really doesn't change the tone of the passive pickups. I also like the frequencies on the Nordy pre.
