Pickup problem (Sadowsky)

Sign in to disble this ad
I installed a set of Sadowsky ham canceling pickups on my Warwick Corvette.
The output of the G string was considerably lower than the rest. A quite test revealed that one of the two pole pieces under that string is not responding - by touching them with a screw driver.
My abilities end here...
Any suggestions? can this be fixed?
Thanks!

They are not new. I put a set of Nordstrand singles on my Sadowsky and thought using these on the Warwick.
The thing is I don't recall a problem when they were in the Sadowsky...

i had a similar problem with a set of ultrajazz pickups. i was screwing the pickups down to low and it was causing something to short. i didnt see anything touching the shielding every time i would take it out to check, but raising it some would make it start working again. it might have been too tight of a fit in my bass since the humcancellers were deeper than the singles that were in there.

Thanks narud. I took the pickup out, problem still exist.
Touching the pole pieces with a screw driver, I feel that this specific pole piece does not magnetize (not sure that's the right phrase..) so I guess that might be the problem.
Any known solution for this? can it be magnetized again?
