Pickup replacement: Duncan??

Hello, how are you?? Well, it's the time to give a pickup change for my dear bass. I have a low price bass, yes. Its a Peavey Milestone BXP all Black, and i love it so much. I tried a lot of basses to make the change but i can't get used to others, i play comfortable with my Peavey, it looks very cool so i decided to keep it for a little more time.

So i thought, "why not to try another pickups?". The pickups on it are the originals (dunno the models of em, but i think that they are cheap.. and the sound is clear, with no much highs and little melow).

In my town there's not too much options to choose. There are some EMG pickups wich are Actives (my bass is pasive), some DGS or DG or something like that, i didnt hear them before, and there are Duncans.

I took a look at the Seymour Duncan Sjb1 Vintage Jazz Bass Pickups. They aren't expensive (or at least i can afford them) and seem to be good.
My doubt about this is if gotta buy 2 of these pups, because it doesn't explain that 1 is the Bridge pup and other Neck pup. So, i gotta buy 2 of them and put it on?? They work as a humbucker or what?? Any can tell me if they are good?? I wanna get a nice tone, a little bit agressive (something like Geddy Lee tone or something like that, i play fingerstyle and rock in general, i must say alternative rock).

Well that's it, sorry bothering you guys but you are the expert people and i trust to you .

Good luck and take care!!

Thank you!!

They are a set, you do have to buy both the bridge and neck.
You would actually like the SJB-3 better, though.
It is more for the style of music you described that you play.

They can be purchased separately as in here: http://www.bestbassgear.com/basslines-pickups-sjb1.htm
Though, yes, if you buy both they'll act as a humbucker when both is fully up.

Give Brian at BestBassGear.Com a call; he'll hook you up.

I do very like the SJB-1 pair (with cloth wires and everything), but I also agree they do not sound as agresive as you might like. I would also suggest looking into dimarzio model J or ultrajazz pickups. Cheaper than duncans and got a cult following for modenish/more agresive/cutting J sound.
