Pickup for a Sandberg Terra bass: MM's

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi there!

I'm thinking on replacing the Delano pickup on my sandberg because it sounds too dry, with not very much low end and horrible highs...

I was thinking on a Nordstrand MM4.2, do you think there are better options? I play black metal BUT I do not cut mid's to boost lows and highs, I like a more balanced and aggressive bass sound.

Should I replace the preamp too? I don't know which is the bass stock but it has four pots, Volume (active/pasive push pull) Bass, mids & treble.

Thank you!

I installed a Nordie 4.2 and love it.. A little more hi-fi than I was expecting. Never played a Delano.

I tried both and i find the Nordstrand MM4.2 to have more mid then delano... You can hear nordstrand soundclip on basstasters.com You can hear that it have more mid then the standard musicman pup...

Personnally i would swith for an aguilar preamp first...

I heard that the nordstrand preamp is very musical too

You just can never go wrong with an aguilar preamp...IMO

It brings the famous aguilar warmth.... IMO

Most basses equipped with delano pickups tend to use electronic made by MEC which i always found VERY HiFi
( a little sterile compare to the aguilar, IMO)

good luck!
