Pickup Size for Squier J

Sign in to disble this ad
I just bought a Squier P-Bass 5 string with J Pups which are very weak. I'd like to replace them but every pup I see on line is longer. Both of mine measure 92mm. Any insights? Bass was made in Indonesia.

sure they aren't 95 .. I bought a set of barts that are both 95 to go in my sx 5 string fretless jazz .. sadly enough I like the stock pickups better ahhaha .. if they are infact 95 you could do a lot worse than picking up some sx pickups I know the bass you are talking about .. I don't remember what the pickups were like .. but 5 string jazz pickups are usually standard fender or the two 95 mm ones

if they are really 92 i have no idea .. maybe cut the holes bigger is the only option I know of as I have never heard of 92 mm pickups .. sorry

hope that helps
Paul

actually if you look at the same pickups in a short and long the neck pickup is 91 mm ..
so there you go .. they do make them .. you might need two neck pickups of that size
which you should be able to order from somewhere

good luck
