Pickup Suggestions

I'm gonna replace the pickups in my Mexican P-bass. I use a lot of effects in my playing, so i'm looking for a pickup with a lot of punchiness that emphasizes the mids. kinda like this sound.

I know he;s slapping but the general tone gets through.

Well trying to get that type of sound with P pups is gonna be hard. Perhaps these Delano's could get you most of the way there in P style pup. DELANO PMVC 4 FE/M2

I wasn't looking for that exact tone perse, but just the punchiness. I just want something that puts me front and center.

Either Bill Lawrence P-46 of EMG actives.
But if you really want to sound like the clip you'll have to make another rout for a soapbar.

In this case, the position of the pickup is more important than its construction. I don't know of any P-shaped pickups that can give you that sound.

Delano's PMVC series will get you mostly there, but you'll need more upper midrange.
