Pickup that'll make a Bronco sound like a Mustang?

Hey guys,

So, i'm trying my hand at modding a bass for the first time ever, and i chose a Squier Bronco i picked up for super cheap.

I preffer the tone of a Mustang to a Musicmaster, and i was wondering if any strat pups will drop in painlessly to get a Mustang tone without routing (which i have ZERO experience with) to put in an actual Mustang pup?

I just put a Dimarzio Fast Track 2 in my Musicmaster and it really sounds great. I had to very lightly sand the pickguard, but that was it.

They go really cheap on ebay these days.

While the Dimarzio is one of the hotter rail pickups, I would guess any would work.

Perhaps a FT2 in the bridge and a more mellow cool rails in the neck.

Let us know what you do.
