Pickups for American Deluxe Jazz

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey dudes!

I recently bought an american deluxe jazz bass. Im currently thinking about replacing the stock Pu's in the bass. They're good pickup's but i want something with more of a 70's type honk to it. Has anyone any reccomendations? Nordstrand, SD, Dimarzio??

Cheers in advance!!

Mat

Im also wondering how replacement pickups would react with the 18v preamp in the fender.....

I left the SCNs in my deluxe, so can't help you there.

As to the preamp, that is going to affect the sound of any pickup. The 18v isn't the issue, as that is isolated from the pickups.

There is only one issue which can appear that this preamp won´t work with active pups, but I pressume that you looking for passives so there is technically no problems in your case.

I think best way would be to sent mail to few boutique manufacturers what would they recommend for Fender Adeluxe preamp as best choice-I would choose on of boutique ...
