Pickups breaking?

Maybe not breaking but something is happening to them.

The Bridge pickup of my Schecter, pretty bad right?

My neck pup, how bad does that look?

That was my main bass for a year and a half, I don't gig or play live except for a school thing once every month or so, I just practiced on it.

And now my new Warwick's getting it to

How do I stop it? is it my technique? I play finger style, pick and Slap if that helps at all.

Also it seems that the pickups a bit loose, I can move it left and right in place. No big deal I guess I care more about the marks.

Cheers, Sam.

Your strings are touching the pickups when you play. Lower the pickups.

OK I've done that, the only string that still hits it is the B, but it's a 135 and I use 125 normally so when I get a new set that will stop right?

No, a smaller string will probably hit more since it is floppier.

Lower the bass side of the pickup a little more, or don't bash your strings so hard.

It wont hurt the pickup though, unless you start wearing through the plastic cover.

That's what happens when you play your instrument, rather than baby it.

Doesn't happen on mine. And I play pretty hard. It's all about technique.

yep I'll do this and report back.
EDIT: lower the strings, I play aggressive music for aggressive people.
