Question Pickups for cheap bass

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm looking new pickups for my Yamaha RBX170 (P/J).

Right now I'm deciding between DiMarzio DP126 and EMG-PJ. According to reviews DP126 is better for my needs, but I've heard that good passive pickups can increase sound defects from bad wood.

Any good advice is welcome.

Thanks.

FWIW:

hard to go wrong with active EMG's, especially for someone beginning or simple first transplants. My first transplant was EMG PJ's with a BTC pre. Solid tone regardless of what level you play.
