pickups for a conklin 7 string bass

Hey guys, I currenly play a conklin 7 string bill dickens model bass. I was concidering changing the pickups to something that gives me more of a "ken smith" sound. Any suggestions? I would like to keep the electronics in the bass. The eq section is extremely versitile! Thanks for your help

I see! I guess my last question would be would my electronics in my bass affect the sound enuff to where it wouldn't sound like "ken smith"? Or would the elctronics just determine the eq control?

This is definitely a double fail on counts of spelling and the fact that same thing was posted right above it!

Question is will the Smiths fit (strings line up over the poles and fit in the cavities) and will you know how to wire it? If you do get them in there it won't sound like a Smith. They're humbuckers, Smiths EQ in combination with his pups give the Smith sound.
