Pickups for Lakland DJ 5

Sign in to disble this ad
I just bought a Lakland DJ5 with no pickups, and need a set. Can anyone (preferably that owns one) tell me what the pickup dimensions are? Are they different lengths like in a Fender?
Does anyone have any recommendations? I want to use a "stack knob" (vol/tone) for each pickup.
Thanks for any help I can get.

contact Lakland. they're the most helpful folks ever. they'll tell you everything you need to know, where you need to go, who you need to talk to, or they'll just hook you up right.

p.s. they make their own pups, so that's what'd be in there originally.

I believe they are the same as fender where they are different lengths. I'd recommend Nordstrand Pickups. I have them in all of my Laklands and couldn't be happier with their sound/customer service.

My DJ has Aero pickups in it. They're great if you like an aggressive and growly sound.

If you want something smoother, there may be better choices.

True...I wasn't a fan of the Aero's. I dig my Nordstrands a lot more.

Yes.

I've had them with Nordies, Aeros and Fralins and kept the Fralins.

I loved the Fralins as well. I had them in my old JO5. Sweet sounding pickup.
