pickups miswired- need help!

I bought a new set of nordstrand NJ4's as well as a pre-wired HAS harness (parallel/series wiring). I paid a friend $20 to do the minimal soldering the job required (I botched my last attempt with what I assume were cold joints).
The pickups have an amazing sound (Nords+HAS=true love forever), but here's my problem- the pots are all messed up- the neck volume gets sound when i turn it counter-clockwise whereas the bridge gets sound when I turn it clockwise. On top of this, there is no, for lack of a better word, "finesse" to the volume cut off. It seems like there is only sound when the pots are turned all the way up.
Is this a problem I can fix myself or should I take it to someone who's better equipped?

The bass is miswired and your buddy should spot you the $20 back so you can take it to a tech and set it right - probably about all he'd charge since all he has to do is hook up the pups if the HAS is prewired.
