Nordstrand

I put Nordstrand NJ4SE's in my Carvin LB70 fretless last month and it was the best thing I've ever done to that bass (I had the same stock Carvin pups in my bass too). Another option for you would be the non-humcancelling NJ5's. I have NJ5's in my Valenti J5 bass, and the are awesome. I don't get any hum, even when the bridgo or neck pup is solo'd. The NJ4SE's have a little more midrange and a little less high end sparkle, which worked great for my fretless. I have since put NP4's in my Fender Precision, which also was the best thing to ever happen to that bass too. I love Nordstrands!

I put an Aguilar OP-2 in my LB70, and the combo with the Nordstrands is outstanding. Other pre-amps to consider would be and Aguilar OP-3, or the Sadowsky preamp.
