Pickups for my Frankenbass

Sign in to disble this ad
I picked up a body to an old Fender Bullet on ebay, its from 1981 back when they were still made in the US. I'm going to put in a Dimarzio P pickup instead of a mustang pickup. I also wanted to add a bridge pickup. I'm thinking about another reverse P like on the Warwick buzzard, or go with a bridge soapbar pickup. I'm currently thinking that I would like a Bart if I go for the soapbar. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what kind of sound either would produce. I'm also planning on going fretless. I'm looking for some versitility in sound. I play a wide range of stuff from modern to classic rock. I'd like to be able to cut through and do some Entwistle type stuff, and be able to back off to a warm and growly tone. I know these kinds of topics can be rather subjective and everyone has an opinion, but isnt that the fun of a "discussion" forum?

Thanks
