One of my new favorite bands: The Cribs.

I'm loving the tone of this P-bass. In the video, you can almost see the pup's. They aren't stock - I think they are EMG's. Can anyone confirm? Are they active or passive?

Thanks for the confirmation guys. How close do they sound like this "out of the box"? Do they sound this gritty or is there more going on to get that tone?

It sounds to me that he's either playing through a tube amp that is overdriven a little bit or an effect; an overdrive or mild distortion.
