Pickups for short-scale basses

I'm not sure where to post this so forgive me if it's in the wrong section.

I'm considering the purchase of a short-scale bass and would like to know if the pickups on the Slammer Special (30.5" scale) are of a 'standard' size. Can I replace them with Bartolini, Seymour Duncan, etc., without modifying the body?

Also, does anyone make good replacement pickups for the Fender Mustang Bass?
