Pickups for a Squier Affinity V

Sign in to disble this ad
I've been looking for a new set for about a month and nothin's turned up. Dimensions are:

Neck: 3.857x1.6875 in.
Bridge: 4.0625x1.6875 in.

Will something that retrofits a Fender Standard Jazz V fit? I really need some help.

Also I should mention that routing for slightly larger pickups may not be a problem, but they need to stay passive.

Get the Fender Noiseless pickups. GC sells them for $155 a pair.

Fender does not make a 5-string version, I've checked. Unless you can give me a link to someplace I haven't found?

You must have looked at the wrong thing because noiseless pickups come standard on the MIA and MIM Deluxe Jazzes.

I just ordered a set of Quarter Pounders (cheaper) for my MIM Jazz, and if I like them, I may get another set for my Squier Affinity Jazz V, as well.

Is there a set of EMGs that will work with this bass?

Lollar, Bartolini, Aero, Aguilar all make that size.

I've got Lollar single coils in mine, and they sound very vintage. Love the sound.

How's the string to string balance? My only complaint about the OEMs is that the middle strings are quieter than the outside strings.

Jallenbass,

The balance is very good. The Lollars have different magnet heights to compensate for string height differences.

Here's a link: http://www.lollarguitars.com/mm5/mer...z-bass-pickups

if you want Vintage, get the SD 67/70 pickups. Killer vintage sound, great bridge pickup mid-range snarl.

Also, if you ever find someone selling Marcus Miller V pickups, equally as excellent.

I have one of these too. Great bass for the $$. Mine came with MIM pickups and it now has the Fender N3s that come standard on the Jazz Bass Deluxe. No issues with install of either. Think the size is same as Fender Jazz V pickups.

Aguilar AG 4J-70 pickups reviews

I'm trying to find some awsome sounding passive jazz pickups for the sadowsky obp I brought. Has anyone tried the Aguilar AG 4J-70 pickups? Are they passive or active?
What about Nordstrands’ nj5f? I am looking for pu's with a lot of growl, bottom, and crisp highs.
