Pickups For Washburn Taurus T25

First off I wanna say, "I love my bass!" For the most part I'm completely happy with it,but I feel the pickups are a bit lacking. In all my searches,it seems this is usually how most people feel about this bass. I'd like to get some better ones put in but everything I've read says you need to alter the bass to be able to put in new ones.I guess they are an odd size. Anybody got anymore info regarding this? What would be another option to fire up these pups? A preamp perhaps? Any recomendations?

Hi,
First of all you should measure the pickups to find the matching replacement ones on the market.
As I always do, I would recommend Bartolini pickups & preamp. It's a good choice for the price. Nice sound, versatility and durability.
Cheers!

I have a T24 at home with the finish wrecked and the electronics missing. I fully plan to install a mudbucker at the neck and a toaster at the bridge, just for fun.

However I have previously loaded Wilkinson pickups into my T24. They didn't fit as stock, I needed to increase the size of the round sections where the pickup screws are located.
