Piezo bridge + fishman powerchip - help needed!

Sign in to disble this ad
I am hoping someone can help me with a wiring schematic for this?

My knowledge of electronics is fairly basic but I have so far managed to successfully swap out the pickup, pots & cap on my Gretsch G2202 (after a lot of research!). This is the schematic I used beforehand:

My question to the TB community is what would be the simplest way of adding the piezo & fishman powerchip into the current setup? I have chosen the powerchip as it seems that this would eliminate the need for a switch or any other additional pots - is this correct?

If someone could explain to me how to go about doing this or even knock up a basic drawing I would really appreciate it. Thanks

OK i think i have answered some of my own questions. From what I can tell it does need to have a switch to select between pickups - just like in a regular tone pot circuit.

Where I am confused is how the fishman powerchip replaces the traditional 2 pickup volumes with just the 1 volume blend? This picture which I have kindly borrowed from the TV Jones website shows where my confusion lies:

The only relevant literature I can find on the Fishman website are these 2 documents:

1. http://www.fishman.com/uploads/produ...uments/179.pdf - powerchip manual - doesn't show any common schematics which i can make sense of!

2. http://www.fishman.com/uploads/documents/4.pdf - schematic showing how to use a passive volume control instead of the powerchip.

Can anyone help me get any further with this?
