Piezo question

I'm wanting to play around with some piezos. Does anyone know what kind of results I would get if I installed them in empty pickup shells, rather than mounting them on the bridge??

Piezos respond to vibration, NOT disturbances in a magnetic field, like magnetic pickups. You will get no output.

Yes, I've worded poorly, but in the case of piezo saddles, the pressure comes from the vibration of the strings.
