Question pj with 3 way selector switch diagram please?

Sign in to disble this ad
hi i just bought a cheap Aria Pro II cat series bass
it has a P-J pickup configuration, with a volume and a tone pot, also a 3-way pickup selector switch.

my problem is i have a wire loose from the tone pot and i have no idea where it goes, ive looked everywhere online and cant find anything like it

can someone please show me a circuit diagram to suite this bass?

thanks in advance

Try connecting it to the non-grounded outer leg of the volume pot with the pickup input wire.

It probably got that way by the pot nut being loose and someone continuing to turn the knob after it was on 10. The whole pot turns and things come apart.

How do you like that neck? One of my favorite long scale necks.

Thumbs up

the necks not too bad glenn, the bass has seen better days and im still setting it up properly,it looks like the wiring has been redone in areas(badly), i need to file down the nut, give it a bit more relief and sand the occasional fret ( i like lowish actions and i dig a bit so its always a compromise)
the neck itself is typical of the era i think, a flat radius on back, i remember doing a set with one in north Queensland a few years ago, it was the drummers play around bass, and it really impressed me. my main bass is a Tune syncron II which is a longscale with a narrower neck with a deeper radius, so im hoping the aria will make a nice backup when i finish, cause i want to retire my '79 stingray.

how common is the cat series?

There's a site that says the CATs were made in 1986 and 1987. Your serial number on the neck plate should begin with a 6 or 7 and be followed be six more digits.

I've seen them on ebay - didn't see any for a while and about a week ago there were three at once.
