PJ Active Wiring Diagram Anyone??

Sign in to disble this ad
I am looking for a wiring diagram for a PJ setup. I would like to have either of the following:

Config 1: volume and tone for each with 2 mini switches for active treble and bass circuits.

or

Config 2:
Master Volume, pan, treble, and bass with active bass and treble circuits.

Are either of these possible? Right now it's in standard PJ wiring, but I am not getting the output from the dual 9V.

Thanks for any help

You need to pick the onboard preamp you are going to use. The wiring diagram will be different for different preamps.

I am using EMG PJ pickups, so the preamps are built in. The guy I got the pickups from had all the pots and the toggles soldiered in, but it had a bad ground loop hum. I was trying to use it all again, but maybe try wiring it up correctly. Alternatively, I wouldn't mind just having the thing run at 18V all the time.

Active bass and treble are not something that you can just wire in. If EMG makes active bass and treble modules, then you will need to refer to their wiring diagrams. Whatever modules/preamp you use to get active bass and treble, you will need to follow the instructions from the manufacturer.

"Active" means that it has a built-in preamp of some kind.
